Hello, my name is Kristen Hill. I was born in Hayward, California. I have a mixed heritage, being half Filipino-American and half Polish-American. Growing up in a musical family, my mom played bass, my dad sang and wrote songs, and my older brother played guitar. I also have a passion for singing.
In terms of hobbies, I enjoy rock climbing, pilates, weightlifting, and cycling. I like to stay active and explore new ways to exercise. When I have spare time, I also enjoy drawing.
Currently, I reside in Taipei, where I am studying Chinese and teaching English. I am excited to meet all of you and get to know you better.

I have lived in several countries including South Korea and Japan, with the goal of experiencing as many places as I can through living there. Now, I am an English teacher based in Taipei, Taiwan.
I have always enjoyed helping others with using natural English, and have tutored from basic to business level English. I was born in Fresno California where I currently work remotely and did my study at San Diego State University. I majored in Asian Diplomacy with a minor in Japanese. I can speak Japanese fluently and have 3 daughters who are bilingual and bi-cultural. I do a lot of volunteer work with several nonprofit groups and want to make a positive impact on underprivileged members of this world we all live in.
In my spare time I enjoy fishing the Kings River, hiking on Lewis Trail near Oakhurst, working in my garden, and playing golf.
I worked as an English teacher from Jan 4th 1999 to May 2002 at Mikes English School and am so exited to be able to work again to teach English so we all can communicate better.

Hello.
My name is Cynthia Olkie. I was born and raised in New York. After graduating Syracuse
University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, I moved to Los Angeles, California to work in film in
television. Fifteen years later I started my own photography company and love capturing life's
most precious moments. No matter which career path I was on, I always found ways to teach
others. I taught photography classes to children and adults, ran the art program at a private
school for 6 years and substituted in schools for kindergarten classes through 8 th grade classes.
I have always enjoyed teaching and sharing my skills but also love what I have and can gain
from all my students. I always loved to travel but after I studied and live in Florence, Italy for a
semester in college, the urge to experience new cultures and how they live grew bigger. I am
so excited to meet you and help you learn English so that you too can experience many more
opportunities.

Jason Black先生は北カリフォルニア出身。1998年にサンフランシスコ州立大学を卒業し、その年の8月にマイクに勤務。当時、子供にも大人からも慕われ、とても優しく人気のある教師でした。教師、スタッフの印象もとても良かったことを憶えています。

2000年にアメリカに帰国。2001年から高校の英語教師として務め、2005年にロサンゼルスに移り、2017年にはカリフォルニア州立大学ノースリッジ校でコンピューターと教育技術の修士号を取得。現在も高校の英語教師として活躍しています。

Jason先生は毎月1回、オンラインイベントとして現地カリフォルニアからレッスンをしてくれます。

Hello, everyone! I think I know most of you, but there may be some new students who have joined Mike's English School since I was last there. I taught at the school from 2010-2011 and 2013-2021. It's been a long time since I saw any of you face to face. It's been an even longer time since we met offline and in person. These days, it feels like being in the same room is more of a special event. I live in Chofu now, but I'm going to be coming to Seiseki-Sakuragaoka to do a few weekly lessons again in person. In 1963, I lived in Libya in North Africa. In my elementary school, we had lessons in the Arabic language.

In 1973, I lived in Wakayama in Japan. I was a high school exchange student, trying the Japanese language.

In 1983, I was teaching the English language to you, my Japanese students, at Mike's English School in Tama City, Tokyo.

In 2023, we will be celebrating the beginning of our NEXT 50 years at the school. It has been a long and very interesting time that I have enjoyed learning and teaching foreign languages. Now, we are teaching you online, but I still like to use my guitar and sing in my lessons. Do you have a request?
