School Location

Our main school is located in Tama City, Tokyo.
Looking at a map of Tokyo, Japan, you'll easily find the Shinjuku district, and the terminus of the Keio train line.
Shinjuku is the one of the main entertainment and business areas around the Yamanote train line, which circles the capital of Japan.

The train station we use (Seisekisakuragaoka station) is a 25-minute ride on the train traveling west from Shinjuku, crossing over the Tama River.
We have a satellite school ten minutes farther west by train in Kitano, which is halfway between our school and Mt. Takao, the end of the Keio line.

The landscape changes from skyscrapers to suburbs to mountain hiking.
We don't have industrial plants as neighbors, but we do have colleges, a major transportation and shopping hub in western Tokyo, and greenery.

Before coming to Tokyo, many of our teachers envisioned themselves in a fast-paced urban lifestyle (a nearby option), but find plenty of diversion and entertainment closer to home. Some buy bikes and pedal the length of the Tama River bicycle path, some join the Tama International Center where volunteers from the community teach the Japanese language.

Our school has been here three decades, and teachers become recognizable to the public and our students around town. Teachers not only register as residents of Tama, they become Tama citizens for the time they live here, and share in community life (except for voting!).
